Shihan Roman Szyrajew 7th Dan
With more then 40 years of experience in Kyokushin, Shihan Roman oversees the teaching of Kyokushin Karate within his organization and regularly teaches at his two dojos, located in Pointe-Claire and in Laval. He has several hundred students under his direct tutelage, including well over 20 black belts.

Overall, his organization has over 500 students, with at least 50 black belts, including 5 yondans and many nidans and sandans.

Shihan Dai Paul Bourgoin 5th Dan
In 2003, at his grading for his 4th Dan, Senseï Paul smashed 53 bricks by using several techniques of breaking.  Then he had the idea to attempt to break a Baseball bat by using his forearm, a technique very rarely used for this kind of breaking.  Definitely an achievement which few people will have the chance to see again soon !  At the age of 43, Senseï Paul participated in its first "Knockdown" tournament, realizing an impressive performance.  He is the second highest graded of the organization in Quebec.  As a specialist in this field, he was awarded a diploma in P.P.C.T. (Press Points Control Techniques), a training given to police officers, security agents and body guards for presidential escorts.

Senseï Dimitri Tsingakis 4th Dan
Senseï Dimitri began his karate training at the age of 15 in 1995, under Shihan Roman Szyrajew , He obtains his shodan in 1998 from Soshu Shigeru Oyama, then director of the international karate organisation (IKO) in North America. After that he pursues his training and begins teaching classes at the dojo where he trains in Laval. During that time, he participated at various local and regional tournaments where he placed regularly in the top three positions. Senseï Dimitri increases his mastery of karate while training with Shihan Marc Van Walleghem et Kancho Mastushima during trips to Europe and Japan. It is during a trip to Japan for the 2004 World Tournament that, quite unexpectedly, he is asked by Shihan Roman to take the black belt test. He obtains his Sandan in front of the International Committee, presided by Kancho Matsushima.

Senseï Joey Reda 2nd Dan
Senseï-Dai Joey was first introduced to the world of Martial Arts at the age of 24, practicing TAE KWON DO for approximately a year. A few years later, he decided to attempt the art of Kung-Fu, progressing rapidly, he stopped prematurely due to an injury. His love for Martial Arts never waned, at the age of 36, he decided to try his luck at Kyokushin, the Ultimate Karate, under the tutelage of Shihan Roman Szyrajew. After his first class with Shihan Roman, he was captivated. He went on to get his Shodan in 2005 and his Nidan in 2008, once more under the watchful eye of Shihan Roman.
During this whole time, karate has become a delight and a way of life for Senseï Joey. He has competed at the tournament level and has been a corner judge at numerous events. In 2007, he acquired his first dojo in Pointe-Claire and in 2009 became the co-owner of his second dojo in Laval. Thereafter he began teaching both kids and adults. Teaching is now his new found passion. His two children Victoria (brown belt) and Sabrina (blue belt) are among his students. His focus and determination has led him to accomplish his dream.

 

 

Senseï Marc Pronovost 2nd Dan
enseï i Marc began his Kyokushin Karate training in 2001 at the age of 23 .His intense training regimen and dedication allowed him to progress rapidly and he earned his Shodan in 2006, from Shihan Roman. Sensei Dai Marc has a reputation for his rigorous training and has a great approach and rapport with all of the students. He has competed in many tournaments, and his fighting has earned the respect of his peers. He is a leader by example, and has found his place within the organization. He is the manager of the Laval branch of the Shihan Roman Dojo, since its opening and is the coach of the Competition Team.

Sensei Christian Sénéchal 2nd Dan
It is with Shihan Roman that Senseï Dai Chris receives his Nidan (2e Dan), the following year. At the same time, in collaboration with his good friend and training partner Sensei Marc Pronovost, they decide to put together a competition team. These elite karateka and their competition team represent the Shihan Roman Dojo at various tournaments, such as the Gold Cup, the Matsushima Challenge and the Matsushima Open (in Japan).


Sensei-Dai Lisette Lafontaine 2nd Dan

Lisette began Karate with the Kyokushin style Lamarre-Côté Dojo in Laval in January, 2003. Since then, she trains regularly, sharing her schedule, among other things, between her profession as an attorney, her training as a karateka and teaching Karate to children. Since 2005, she had the chance to begin teaching Karate to children passing on her knowledge and passion for Karate to them. Then as a brown belt, she received the merit of the "Karateka of the year 2007" for the Dojo of Laval. Graded Shodan in 2008 with the Lamarre-Côté organization, she proudly joined the organization of Shihan Roman in July, 2009. Lisette also had the chance to widen her knowledge and to improve her techniques by participating in different summer camps, in competitions for children as judge of katas and fights, in special clinics of katas as well as to a private clinic given by Kancho Matsui. She strongly believes in the respect and the confidence that Karate brings to the children. She intends to pursue her implication in her Dojo.


Sensei Jacinthe Meunier Sensei-Dai Jacinthe Meunier 2nd Dan

Deaf from birth, Jacinthe has never been afraid of challenges. Besides having a talent for arts, she also excels at sports, since her very young age, such as ski (of any kind), hockey 3A, curling, volleyball, and others. Moreover, she made the Quebec Games, the Canada Games and even the Olympic Games of 1985 in Los Angeles as a member of the Canadian volleyball team. Jacinthe began Karate with the Kyokushin style Lamarre-Côté Dojo in Laval. She obtained her black belt (Shodan) in 2008, besides being named "Karateka of the year" of the Dojo of Laval that same year. Jacinthe is involved since 2005 in teaching Karate to children. Since July, 2009 Jacinthe joined the Dojo of Shihan Roman in Laval. Jacinthe also had the chance to widen her knowledge and to improve her techniques by participating in different summer camps, in competitions for children as judge of katas and fights, in special clinics of katas as well as to a private clinic given by Kancho Matsui. She is completely dedicated to her training, to her desire to teach Karate to the children (and if possible, to deaf children) and to remain implicated in her Dojo.
