Kyokushin Karate
Kyokushin Karate was founded around 1957 by Masutatsu Oyama (June 23, 1923 – April 23, 1994), who combined his knowledge of Shotokan and Goju styles of Karate with his own personal experiences. Kyokushin is recognized as a realistic style, combining practical and efficient training with a traditional martial arts approach, with respect, discipline and control.
Kyokushin is one of the most popular Karate styles in the world today, practised in most countries by men, women and children.
All of the body’s natural weapons are used, and the art of realistic combat is favoured.
The practice of Katas remains important, as is the practice of self-defence techniques.

The Dojo Kun
The Dojo Kun was written by Mas. Oyama with the help of the famous Japanese author Eiji Yoshikawa, who wrote “Musashi”, the quasi fictional epic novels on the legendary samurai, Musashi Miyamoto.
We will train our hearts and bodies for a firm unshaken spirit.
We will pursue the true meaning of the martial way, so that in time, our senses may be alert.
With true vigor, we will seek to cultivate a spirit of self denial.
We will observe the rules of courtesy, respect our superiors and refrain from violence.
We will follow our religious principles and never forget the true virtue of humility.
We will look upwards to wisdom and strength not seeking other desires.
All our lives through the discipline of karate, we will seek to fulfill the true meaning of the Kyokushin way.
